My Shopping Plan

This is where you will be able to find my plan of attack for my shopping trip.  The plan comes into action as soon as I finish reviewing all of the fliers.  So, if all of the fliers aren't finished yet, I won't be shopping!  This page will change weekly, as I build my plan.

Looking at the Kraft specials it seems that Walmart is the best bet for deals.  I need to check to see if Zellers carries the same products because if they do, THAT is the place to shop.  You can price match AND use coupons AND get points AND have no limit to what you buy.  So...off I am to contact my local Zellers!!

Okay, so I had these wonderful plans built up on what I was going to buy this week and then I started up the truck and headed to Giant Tiger.... I was SUPER BUMMED!  No sale on Jane's Chicken--trash the idea of stocking up on tasty chicken.  Then no sale on Fiber 1 Bars---trash the idea of stocking up on an easy snack food and replacement for candy bars.  SIGH
What did I get?  5 packages of bacon at $2 each = $10 / 10 packages of chicken hot dogs (kids love them) for $1 each = $10/ total spent $20

Then I headed to Walmart....SIGH  they didn't have the cheese wiz in stock...SIGH they didn't have the Kraft dressing in stock.  What did I get? 4 packages of Kraft singles at 2.98 each/ used $3 when you buy 4 coupon basically I bought 3 got one for free.  They had Pilsbury Pizza Pops on sale 12-pack for $6.  I grabbed a box, it'll make a fast dinner tonight. I grabbed 4 bottles of Bullseye BBQ sauce $2 each and used (2) $1.50 when you buy 2 Kraft products so I got 4 bottles for $5 and I picked up (2) 1L bottles of Allen's low acid apple juice for $1 each and (2) 8-pack lunch sized apple juices for $1.50 each. Then I used my Johnson & Johnson Full Price Coupon to buy a J&J baby bath combo set with bucket and wash cloth.  I grabbed each of my girls a new pair of shoes (Dora the Explorer) for $10 each and called it a day from there (grabbed the flier so I can PM at Zellers)

Then I went to my local Rexall.  I super love this place!  They had a few bottles of Snuggle Fabric softner on sale for $1.99.  I had (5) $1.00 coupons so I got 5 bottles for $0.99 each!  Then I bought (24) bottles of Mott's Clamatto Juice for $0.98 EACH! WOOT! This was great.  I grabbed a few coupons for Oral B toothbrushes and Advil Nightime while I was there and called it a day. Grabbed the flier for future reference.

Lastly (for today) I went to my local Food Faire.  Yesterday I saw that they had some Hamburger Helper on clearance for $1.79 each. I wanted to get some of those and see if they had any coupons worth grabbing.  Sadly, they did not have any coupons worth grabbing (or not any that I did not already have) so I grabbed4 boxes of Hamburger Helper for $1.79.  I saw another set of HH on sale for $2.49 clearance WOW Way too much for me.  When I was cashing out I mentioned to the cashier that they ahve HH on sale for $1.99 this week but the ones on clearance are $2.49.  She said that was obvious a mis-markdown and said she would take them ALL down to $1.79. WOOT!  So I grabbed every box they had on clearance and used a $0.50 coupon on each of them! Cha-CHING! So I got like 26 boxes of HH for about $1.20 a box. Not too shabby for an unplanned sale.  Of course I walk around to see what else they have on sale and what do I find in the meat isle? Lean ground beef on sale for $2.19lb!!!! HOOO-YAH  I grab 3 packages.
I also saw that they have Jane's chicken on sale for $6.99...not even close to the $4.99 that Giant Tiger has in other provices.  I'm still debating if I want to get some or not.  I'm going to double check the expiration date on my coupons and then decide.  If I have time to wait I think I am just going to wait.

Tomorrow will be a run to get a newspaper, quick review of the sale fliers and then heading to Zellers and London Drugs!

  1. This will be great to see! There's no better way to learn how to save money with coupons than by seeing how someone else does it.
